Dr. Cecilia Keady

Dr. Keady, DNP, FNP, ARNP, brings over 26 years of clinical experience and a deeply rooted commitment to serving others with compassion, integrity, and purpose. As a Doctor of Nursing Practice–prepared Family Nurse Practitioner, DOT-certified provider, CPR instructor, and program developer, she has dedicated her career to improving lives through both medical excellence and meaningful human connection.
Originally from Peru, Dr. Keady began her medical journey with four years of medical school education in Mexico before advancing her training in the United States. She earned her Master’s degree from Boston College and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her multicultural background has shaped her passion for delivering culturally sensitive, accessible, and patient-centered care to diverse and underserved communities.
Throughout her career, she has managed, created, and directed state and federally funded programs, including initiatives supported by the CDC and NIH, with a focus on diabetes and asthma care. Her leadership in program development and public health has contributed to improving outcomes in high-risk populations and expanding access to quality care.
Guided by her Christian values, Dr. Keady approaches each patient encounter with honesty, transparency, and genuine compassion. She believes in treating not just the condition, but the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—fostering trust while empowering patients through education and advocacy. As a trilingual provider fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, she ensures that language is never a barrier to understanding or healing.
Her extensive experience spans primary care, cardiology, HIV/AIDS management, diabetes care, weight management, and aesthetic dermatology. She has also served in academic and leadership roles as adjunct faculty at Boston College and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she mentored future healthcare professionals and contributed to the development of innovative educational programs.
Dr. Keady believes that true healing begins with listening. Her mission remains steadfast: to provide care rooted in faith, guided by integrity, and delivered with excellence—helping patients reclaim not only their health, but also their confidence and sense of well-being.

What Is a Nurse Practitioner?
A Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a highly trained healthcare professional who combines advanced clinical expertise with a patient-centered approach to care.
Nurse Practitioners play an essential role in modern healthcare by providing comprehensive medical care while focusing on prevention, education, and long-term wellness.
A Nurse Practitioner is:
A highly trained healthcare provider
NPs complete advanced graduate-level education and clinical training beyond their initial preparation as registered nurses.
A provider who treats the whole person
Nurse Practitioners focus on the complete health of the patient, considering lifestyle, environment, and overall wellness when treating specific health concerns.
An educator and counselor
NPs take time to explain diagnoses, treatments, and preventive care so patients and their families understand their health and healthcare decisions.
A compassionate caregiver
Nurse Practitioners provide a unique blend of nursing care and individualized medical treatment.
A guide for healthier living
NPs help patients make informed lifestyle and healthcare choices that support long-term wellness.
A manager of acute and chronic conditions
They diagnose and treat acute illnesses, manage chronic diseases, and focus on preventive care and health promotion.
A partner in your health
Nurse Practitioners assess patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans — including prescribing medications when appropriate.
A Message from Dr. Cecilia Keady
Nurse Practitioners have been providing primary, acute, and specialty healthcare to patients of all ages and backgrounds for nearly half a century. Today, millions of patients choose Nurse Practitioners as their primary healthcare providers because of their advanced training, patient-centered approach, and commitment to comprehensive care.
NPs assess patients, order and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose conditions, and initiate and manage treatment plans — including prescribing medications. Through their unique blend of nursing and medical care, Nurse Practitioners focus on the whole person when addressing health concerns.
In addition to providing high-quality medical care, NPs place strong emphasis on patient education, prevention, and helping individuals make informed lifestyle and healthcare decisions. By partnering closely with patients and providing guidance on early intervention and disease prevention, Nurse Practitioners often help reduce unnecessary emergency room visits, shorten hospital stays, and improve overall health outcomes.
All Nurse Practitioners complete advanced graduate education, earning master’s or doctoral degrees along with extensive clinical training beyond their preparation as registered nurses. This training allows them to diagnose and manage acute, episodic, and chronic illnesses while focusing on disease prevention, health promotion, and patient education.
Choosing a Nurse Practitioner means choosing a provider who listens, educates, and works alongside you to help you achieve better health.
